How Our Preschool's Philosophy Helps Families THRIVE.

If you're finding yourself on our website, it's likely for a reason. Here at Reap & Sow we attract families who understand the importance of play, the need for self care during parenthood, and how these two things impact your ability to regulate your own emotions to best serve your family.

We understand the challenges you face in creating joy and reducing stress within your own family function because we struggle with them too! As mothers and fierce advocates for the wellness of our own children and families, the staff here at Reap & Sow are working hard to solve the problems most families are facing in our society. We aim to provide your children with a nurturing environment where they can express themselves safely, play freely, and live fully! In doing so, YOU can rid yourself of the guilt you feel for taking the time and space you need to meet your own needs. It is our hope that you are then able to show up for your children in the best possible way. It's a win win for everyone.

Discover the Power of Co-Regulation:
A Preschool Experience Like No Other!

At Reap & Sow we specialize in emotional regulation to help children appropriately express themselves while feeling safe, seen, heard, and loved.

Arguably, the most amazing benefit of sending your children to Reap & Sow Children's Center, is our staff's ability to hold space for your children's big emotions. Our team understands the importance of allowing children to express themselves fully, so that they are able to live authentically. This does not imply that our approach is passive, or that our role is permissive. Rather, we set firm boundaries and facilitate the children in understanding expectations while also honoring the whole child.

We also understand the importance of physical health and its implications for your children's mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being. For this reason we take extra care in the products we use. All of our cleaning supplies are home made using only natural, non-toxic ingredients. Additionally, when we prepare recipes with the children, we only use fresh organic ingredients that are free of gluten, soy, seed oils, and GMOs.

We are grateful to be sharing this incredibly important space and stage of your children's development with your family.

How To Know If Reap & Sow Is For You:

If you have children between the ages of 2 & 6, and your family leads a holistic lifestyle, values the power of free play, understands the importance of reducing stress in order to improve emotional regulation for ALL members of the family unit, and you're craving connection with community, you've come to the right place. Reap & Sow Children's Center will provide your child with a fun, safe, happy, and healthy play-based learning environment, giving you the peace of mind you need to allow yourself to relax, de-stress, and work on your own self care. This will allow you to be able to show up for your family in the ways that you so deeply want to. We are happy to work with families on challenges you might be facing at home with behavioral issues, co-regulation, and just general support and encouragement. We truly ARE a community and care deeply about all of our members. We'd love to have you join us.

What To Expect:

At Reap & Sow we believe that children learn best through free play. The children are able to play freely in an enriched environment with the emotional support they need when difficult interactions or situations arise. Each afternoon the children are presented with an invitation to play, which helps address age appropriate academic skills in a way that doesn't feel forced. Our preschool play curriculum was written by our owner and is available to purchase if families would like to also create invitations to play with their children at home.

As you can see below, each day is broken up into chunks, and transitions between these blocks of time are also an opportunity for the children to work on other important skills, such as following multi step directions, self responsibility, and contributing to the functioning of the community. We have many procedures in place to help the children increase independence in a way that feels natural.

What People Are Saying...

A Peek Into Our World

Rebecca Negron, M.S.Ed.

Meet the Owner

Rebecca Negron, M.S.Ed.

Hey Mama! I'm Becky. I'm a fellow parent, licensed special educator, and passionate believer in freedom in childhood. I attended Simmons University where I received a Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on Assistive Technology. I graduated first in my class, receiving their prestigious Mary Carlisle Holmes book award for excellence in the field of special education. (Beep beep!) I also hold a Bachelor's in Psychology with minors in Family Studies and American Sign Language from UNH, where I graduated with honors.

I left my job as a public school teacher after the birth of her daughter, when I became acutely aware of the shortcomings of standardized education. Lessons in motherhood quickly taught me about the importance of play and autonomy in childhood, leading me down a path of self-discovery and entrepreneurship.

I am a certified children's yoga instructor and also got certified with Mindful Schools before opening a children's yoga studio in 2019. Through my work within the world of special education alongside my yoga practice, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of the relationship between my inner and outer worlds.

Reap & Sow Children's Center opened in fall of 2021, when I transitioned away from teaching children's yoga to providing play-based childcare with a focus on the importance of co-regulation. By way of my lifestyle, I encourage families to let go of unreasonable expectations of themselves and their children, and help them embrace the power of play while practicing self compassion.

When I think back on my early days in motherhood, I sometimes am filled with sadness at the lack of support and care I had, that I so desperately needed. It is my intention to help build a community where other mothers don't have to feel how I did. Where they can have the love and support of a community of families who are working together to raise the next generation in such a way that we can help create a better world.
